Photo Gallery below has some details of the mural to show the high level of realism in every square foot.
Even the animals were fooled--birds who became trapped in the room often tried to land on the painted roof tiles. One memorable day some visitors had their white German shepherd with them and he took off at a dead run, intending to run straight down the road through the vineyard on the back wall of the mural. He got to within six feet and executed a surprised sliding stop.
This was an immense project, but a very rewarding one. Most of the painting was the work of my own hands, with the assistance of talented Cambrian artist Phil Hauser, who painted the figurative elements on the right and left walls when the deadline loomed. These photos show the floor before the acid staining was done.
